Further information about the IWK can be found at IWK OST ### Your tasks • Processing versatile questions related to materials at the interface of various specialist areas • Carrying out material analytical investigations, including using electron microscopy, EDX, FT-IR, and thermal analysis • Contributing to the clarification of causes of damage through precise analytics and sound measurement results • Evaluation and documentation of measurement results as a basis for customer reports, project decisions, and further development steps • Participation in research projects for the development of new materials and formulations • Accompanying and supporting students during laboratory work • Responsibility for reliable laboratory operations including the equipment park, maintenance, ordering, chemical management, and documentation Your qualification • Completed training as a Laborant:in EFZ specializing in chemistry or comparable basic training in the chemical, materials technology, or natural science field • Several years of professional experience in a laboratory environment, ideally in polymer analytics or plastics technology • Practical experience with analytical and testing procedures, especially in instrumental chemical analytics and microscopy • Confident handling of laboratory equipment, testing methods, and the careful documentation of measurement results • Reliable, self-motivated personality with an exact way of working, high self-organization, strong quality awareness, and openness to new topics • Team-oriented and communicative personality with the ability to work with different stakeholders Your benefits with us Questions about the application process Sandra Isenring HR Business Partnerin sandra.isenring@ost.ch About the OST The OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule is an intercantonal and interstate university of applied sciences with locations in Buchs, Rapperswil-Jona, and St.Gallen.
