The night is not a break in everyday care – it is its own space. People who cope well during the day sometimes need someone present at night. Those who can professionally shape this space influence the well-being of the residents far beyond the night. That is exactly why we are looking for you.

Who we are
Heim Sunnegg is a social pedagogical facility for adults with support needs: 17 places, two residential groups, rural location at the edge of the village. We offer a structured, life-oriented everyday life and promote self-determination, participation, and personal development.
We are in the midst of a transformation. The daily structure is being redesigned, existing concepts are being further developed, and new approaches to living together are being consciously tested. We explicitly include the night in this thinking – for us, it is not a blind spot.

Your tasks
You ensure safety, peace, and reliability during the night
You accompany residents during nocturnal restlessness, fears, and sleep problems – present, calm, relationship-oriented
You act thoughtfully and according to clear specifications in crisis and emergency situations
You undertake nursing and medication tasks according to prescription
You document observations and ensure a careful handover to the day service
You complete defined domestic and organizational tasks during quiet phases
You contribute your perspective from the night to team meetings and development processes

What you bring with you
Completed training as a Social Pedagogue HF/FH or comparable qualification
Experience in accompanying adults with support needs
The ability to work alone and decide independently – without isolating yourself
Calmness and certainty of action in unclear or escalated situations
Carefulness in documentation and handover
A life rhythm that fits night work – and the willingness to work nights permanently
Good German skills in speaking and writing

A night shift that belongs – fixed handovers, participation in team meetings, access to supervision. You work at night, but not apart from the team

Good to know
Service times: The position is advertised as a permanent night watch within the framework of our three-shift model, which applies from October 2026. Weekend services are included. We plan the scheduling together and early.
Accessibility via public transport: Walkringen station is located on the BLS line Burgdorf–Thun and is served hourly by the S-Bahn lines S41 (Solothurn–Thun) and S42; from there, it is a few minutes' walk to us at Ebnenackerweg. From Bern, you can reach us in just over half an hour: with tram 6 to Worb and continuing with Postauto 791 via Rüttihubelbad – or by train via Konolfingen. We are located in Libero-Zone 146. For off-peak times, we will clarify the journey together.
