In collaboration with the relevant federal and cantonal services, it develops the necessary legal bases, strategies, plans and systems and issues directives to the cantonal and confederation bodies responsible for border control. Furthermore, it conducts sanctioning procedures against airlines that have violated their obligations arising from foreign national law and represents the office within national and international bodies.
