Your responsibility :

• You lead the Main Department Operations with the departments of Operational Command as well as Operational and Contingency Planning.
• You are responsible for the cantonal contingency planning and operational doctrine of the cantonal civil protection and continuously develop these.
• You are responsible for the operations of the Civil Protection Operational Association (EVB). This unites nine cantonal operational resources: Care-Team, Emergency Hotline, Personnel Management Team, ABC Defense, Oil Defense, Rhine Rescue, Civil Protection Company, Engineering Team and Helisupport Civil Protection.
• As Chief of Staff of the Cantonal Command Staff (KFS), you take on a central leadership function in managing major events and emergencies and work closely with partner organizations, municipalities, cantons, the Confederation and the Army.
• You manage and accompany IT and procurement projects.
• You represent the office in cantonal, national and trinational specialist and working groups.

Your background :

• You have a Master's degree and proven conceptual skills as well as experience in project management, preferably according to HERMES.
• You have a strong understanding of business management contexts.
• As an experienced leader, you combine strategic thinking with a high orientation toward operations.
• You lead securely even under time pressure, make clear decisions and know how to bring different organizations and specialist areas together.
• You have experience in project management, preferably in IT, digitalization and procurement projects.
• You are at least an officer of leadership level 2 of a partner organization of civil protection or an officer of the Swiss Army with proven operational experience.
• High resilience as well as the willingness for operations outside of regular working hours are required.

Amt für Militär und Bevölkerungsschutz (AMB)

The Amt für Militär und Bevölkerungsschutz (AMB) is an operational, training and administrative organization. The AMB is a department with around 50 employees within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft.
The AMB is responsible for the operations of the Civil Protection Operational Association, the training in civil protection as well as for personnel and cadres in civil protection. Administrative activities include, among others, army tasks on behalf of the Confederation or the operation of the Liestal barracks. Furthermore, operational and contingency planning is created in the AMB, as well as logistics and administrative services are provided.
