In the interest of employees and companies, the Amt für Wirtschaft (AWI) contributes to strengthening the Zurich location. With its approximately 100 employees, economic expertise is bundled in the AWI, where the areas of location promotion, work permits, labor relations, labor inspectorate, and economics, as well as the staff, are located. The Labor Relations area is active in the implementation of flanking measures. Wage and undeclared work controls are carried out, compliance with the reporting obligation is verified, the Posting of Workers Act is enforced, the Federal Act on Measures to Combat Undeclared Work is implemented, and the labor market is monitored regarding compliance with local, professional, and industry-standard wages. The offices of the Tripartite Commission of the Canton of Zürich (TPK) and the Einigungsamt are also located in this area. The Labor Market Control Office team is responsible for control activities in the area of flanking measures for the free movement of persons in sectors without collectively binding general labor agreements, the job reporting obligation, and the combating of undeclared work in all sectors.
