Located in the middle of the Old Town of the city of Bern, the Rechtsamt for the Direktion für Inneres und Justiz (DIJ) instructs appeal proceedings against orders of its offices and prepares the orders of the DIJ in state liability proceedings. Varied, challenging and exciting issues as well as legal cases characterize our daily work.

Your tasks

• Instruct appeal proceedings and draft appeal decisions, particularly in planning law, property transfer tax law and in the reduction of health insurance premiums
• Process state liability cases and represent the Kanton Bern before civil courts
• Clarify legal questions for the attention of the Direktion and the offices
• Answer political motions and draft co-reports on submissions from other Direktionen
• Lead legislative projects and participate in working groups

Your profile

• Completed legal studies, patent as an attorney
• Independent way of working and ability to deal deeply with complex legal problems
• Very good editorial skills and enjoyment of written expression
• Good oral communication skills in German as well as good French skills
• Interest in political contexts and in administrative and procedural law issues

Furthermore, it represents the Kindes- und Erwachsenenschutzbehörde in civil law disputes, supports the Direktion and its offices in all legal matters and participates in or leads legislative projects itself.
