Starting from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for an experienced specialist for our "Schulische Berufsbildung und Weiterbildung" department in the Mittelschul- und Berufsbildungsamt of the Bildungs- und Kulturdirektion.

Your tasks

Advisory and supervision:

• You support the training of professional groups and ensure compliance with legal bases and regulations at the vocational schools.
• In close cooperation with the responsible specialist departments, you clarify pedagogical and legal issues and support the vocational schools in the implementation of educational regulations and curricula.
• You provide information and advise school management, sponsors, parents, vocational trainers, and other agencies.
• Additionally, you assist in answering parliamentary motions and in consultations.

Key tasks:

• You advise the vocational schools on matters concerning school space and coordinate with the responsible specialist departments.
• You are responsible for supervising the correct implementation of physical education according to the applicable bases, as well as clarifying issues surrounding physical education and the implementation of the federal framework curriculum for sports.
• You provide specialist advice for intercantonal specialist courses.

Project participation:

• You actively participate in the FUTUREMEM project and take on deputy roles within the project as required.

Your profile

• Completed vocational apprenticeship with further training at university level (FH or Uni), e.g., in pedagogy, law, business administration.
• Several years of professional experience in vocational training at a vocational school or in a comparable function in educational administration is ideal.
• Experience in cooperating with authorities, schools, and other stakeholders.
• Familiarity with educational regulations and curricula or the willingness to acquire this knowledge quickly.
• Knowledge in the area of school space and infrastructure planning and physical education at vocational schools is an advantage.
• Strong advisory and communication competence towards various stakeholders.
• Interconnected, solution-oriented thinking and acting.
• Independent, structured, and reliable way of working.
• Willingness to take on responsibility and project work.
• Proficient German (C2) and French (B2) in spoken and written form.

The Mittelschul- und Berufsbildungsamt is responsible for the management and supervision of secondary schools, vocational training, continuing education, and vocational guidance according to the legal requirements of the Confederation and the Canton. Together with its educational partners, it is committed to education for a Switzerland of today and tomorrow.

The Abteilung schulische Berufsbildung und Weiterbildung manages and supervises the German-speaking vocational schools, the supported offers for the acquisition and maintenance of basic competencies for adults, as well as lifelong learning, and thus also makes an important contribution to the integration of migrants. It also coordinates the cantonal bridge offers. Together with the schools, continuing education organizations, and involved specialist departments, it ensures the purposeful implementation of educational regulations and the further development of training courses and offers. It further ensures coordination with the Confederation, the continuing education institutions, and the other cantons.
