In addition to fundamental work, it also deals with complex individual questions. On the basis of the Office's work, higher-level authorities make wayfinding and political decisions. The Office for Integration and Social Affairs holds the strategic responsibility for the Asylum and Refugees sector in the Canton of Bern. To implement this task, the department works closely with six external regional partners. In the Canton of Bern, five regional partners bear the overall operational responsibility for the assigned persons in their region. For unaccompanied minors, one partner is responsible for the entire cantonal territory. The regional partners are commissioned and supervised by the Asylum and Refugees department.
