Organic Chemistry Laboratory Technician, Science & Research

Job title: Organic Chemistry Laboratory Technician, S&R Work location: La Plaine, Switzerland As a selected candidate, you will join our S&R (Science & Research) - Process Chemistry Sciences & New Technologies department in Geneva. You will contribute to the optimization and development of industrial processes by relying on the latest technologies serving the fragrance and flavor industry. Your main responsibilities • Develop and optimize multi-step synthesis processes from gram-scale optimization to kilogram-scale validation. • Monitor and analyze chemical reactions using notably: GC, HPLC, IR and other analytical techniques. • Isolate and purify organic products by extraction, distillation, crystallization and chromatography. • Provide support for the transfer of processes developed in the laboratory to pilot and industrial scales. • Identify technical problems and actively propose solutions. • Respect HS&E procedures and contribute proactively to the improvement of laboratory safety. • Document work results in an electronic laboratory notebook. Analyze data and present results. You Bring • CFC in chemistry or equivalent diploma. • Proven practical experience in a research and development laboratory in an industrial environment. • Good knowledge of organic chemistry. An interest in the digitalization of laboratory activities and the use of digital tools is an asset. • Proactivity, open-mindedness and team spirit. • Good time management and ability to work autonomously. • Professional competence in French, mastery of English is a plus.
