Overhead Line Technician Telecommunications (Copper & Fiber Optics)

To strengthen our team, we are looking for committed and motivated overhead line technicians telecommunications (copper & fiber optics). Your tasks You are responsible for the construction, maintenance and troubleshooting of overhead telecommunications systems. Your activities include in particular: • Construction, expansion and maintenance of overhead lines for telecommunications • Assembly and disassembly of copper and fiber optic cables on overhead lines • Creation of new overhead line connections for private and business customers • Exchange and renewal of existing overhead line cables • Assembly, replacement and repair of telecommunications masts • Creation and renewal of suspensions, supporting structures and mast equipment • Assembly of fiber optic cables including pulling, fastening and protective measures • Assembly and repair of copper cables including splice and connection work • Carrying out network reconfigurations as well as rerouting of existing lines • Troubleshooting after storms, traffic accidents or cable damage • Assistance in the localization and repair of network faults • Working with aerial work platforms, climbing devices and rope technology • Carrying out mast inspections and condition assessments • Documentation of the performed work in digital order systems • Compliance with quality, safety and environmental regulations (SUVA as well as specifications of the network operators) Your profile Ideally, you have: • Completed vocational training as Netzelektriker EFZ, Elektroinstallateur EFZ, Montage-Elektriker EFZ or Telekommunikationsmonteur • Alternatively training as Forstwart, Zimmermann, Metallbauer or a comparable technical training • Experience in the construction and maintenance of overhead lines is an advantage • Knowledge in the field of copper and/or fiber optic networks is desirable • Experience in handling aerial work platforms or working at heights • Physical fitness as well as freedom from vertigo • Independent and reliable way of working • Teamwork skills and sense of responsibility • Readiness for on-call service, night and weekend shifts • Driver's license category B mandatory • Driver's license BE or C/C1 is an advantage • Good German skills in speaking and writing Advantageous • Experience in the Swisscom environment or with other telecommunications network operators • Knowledge in fiber optic expansion (FTTH, FTTB, FTTC) • Experience in splicing copper and fiber optic cables • Knowledge in the copper network (splices, branches, house connections) • Training for aerial work platforms or working on suspended ropes • SUVA courses or safety training What we offer • Exciting projects in the telecommunications industry • Modern vehicles, machines and tools • High-quality personal protective equipment • Thorough induction as well as internal and external further training • Attractive employment conditions • Development opportunities to Team Leader, Construction Manager or Project Manager • Long-term perspectives in a growing company • Collegial working environment with short decision-making paths What characterizes you You enjoy working outdoors and appreciate varied assignments.
