Who are we?

Die Eidgenössische Hochschule für Berufsbildung EHB is the Swiss expertise organization for vocational education and training. We train and further educate those responsible for vocational education and training, research vocational education and training, further develop professions and support international vocational education and training cooperation. Our locations are in Zollikofen near Bern (headquarters), Lausanne and Lugano, with branch locations in Olten and Zürich.

Your area of responsibility

• Support for the Director and the higher education management in strategic, conceptual and organizational developments of the EHB as well as in their implementation
• Active participation in and leadership of projects for the implementation of the EHB strategy and the strategic goals of the Federal Council as well as support in monitoring the implementation
• Conceptual, planning and coordination work in the areas of strategy, leadership, organization and higher education development
• Professional and personnel leadership of the directorate staff
• Further development of the higher education development area and support with cross-departmental topics
• Design and maintenance of cooperation with the members of the higher education management and within the entire directorate (HR, legal service, communication, organization & quality, international relations)
• Substantive preparation and follow-up of higher education management meetings and retreats as well as ensuring business correspondence between the higher education management and the EHB-Rat
• Planning and organization of internal events (such as management meetings) and support for strategically relevant internal formats
• Member of the higher education management with an advisory voice

Your profile

• Completed university degree, preferably in a social or humanities discipline
• Sound knowledge of the educational landscape, namely vocational education and training and universities, as well as high affinity for education and higher education issues
• Several years of professional experience in a conceptual, coordinating or project management function, preferably in the education, university or public environment
• Good sense for institutional and political contexts as well as a binding and diplomatic approach in dealing with different stakeholders
• High willingness to learn and develop, initiative, capacity for innovation and analytical skills as well as the ability to quickly grasp, structure and prepare complex topics in a manner appropriate to the target group
• Organizational and coordination strength as well as reliability in implementation
• Very good language competence in German or French as well as good knowledge of the respective other language; Italian and/or English skills desired
