COMMERCIAL P&C - UNDERWRITING EXPERTISE! We are supporting our partner in filling a demanding mandate for a leading Swiss insurance company in the Zurich area. For a short-term strategic project, we are looking for an experienced personality with sound expertise in the field of Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) and particularly in the underwriting of SME business.

YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY You support the insurance business in the review and further development of the existing P&C risk appetite framework as well as the product offering for the SME business. In doing so, you analyze and assess existing underwriting guidelines, principles, and control mechanisms and develop them in a targeted manner. Another focus lies on the definition and assessment of underwriting limits and deductibles by coverage and industry, as well as on the analysis of current underwriting and market practices. You review existing facility agreements and framework agreements and contribute your expertise to the further development of coverage concepts and standardized product frameworks. Furthermore, you analyze existing underwriting processes and workflows, identify optimization potential, and develop concrete recommendations as well as process documentation and work instructions. In this role, you work closely with various stakeholders from underwriting, sales, business development, and other specialist departments. You prepare your findings and recommendations in a structured manner and present them to specialists and management. Due to your experience, you are able to quickly familiarize yourself with existing structures and processes and create concrete added value after a short induction period.

YOUR PROFILE You have several years of experience in the Swiss SME or commercial insurance market and bring sound practical experience as an underwriter, technical underwriter, P&C insurance expert, or in a comparable function. You have very good knowledge in the area of property and/or casualty as well as in commercial P&C underwriting and risk assessment. You are familiar with risk appetite frameworks, underwriting guidelines, product offerings, underwriting limits, and deductibles, and ideally bring experience with facility agreements and framework agreements. Experience in optimizing underwriting processes and workflows is also an advantage. You work analytically, structurally, pragmatically, and solution-oriented, enjoy taking responsibility, and can quickly grasp complex insurance topics and translate them into concrete recommendations. Very good German and/or French skills are required; English is an advantage.
