Bern, Switzerland (and home office) | 90-90% Your contribution In the framework of this function, you will be responsible for: • ensuring the functioning and continuous development of controlling, planning, and reporting in the financial field for the DDIP; • making available, according to needs, the relevant information for decision-making purposes and providing support to the management of the DDIP in the strategic and operational management of finances; • providing advice and support to the management of the DDIP in the strategic management of human resources; • providing advice on risks ("risk coach" role) and ensuring the functioning of the internal control system (ICS) as the ICS officer as well as business continuity (Business Continuity Management, BCM) as the BCM officer for the DDIP; • ensuring administrative-financial support to projects and actions in the field of public international law; • coordinating the consultations of offices requested by other departments and internal to the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA); • representing the DDIP in various working groups and networks. <br /> What distinguishes you <br /> • University degree (bachelor in business administration) or university professional school diploma in economics, human resources, administration, or accounting and finance, as well as several years of professional experience • Knowledge in business administration, finance, and management as well as in the field of quality assurance and risk management • Knowledge of the legal bases relevant to the various areas of activity (Federal Act on the Finances of the Confederation, Code of Obligations, Subsidies Act, ordinances and instructions of the FDFA, etc.) • Knowledge of process and project management methods as well as contract management • Editorial skills in at least two official languages <br /> In summary As the manager of human resources and finance within the Directorate of Public International Law (DDIP), you will lead the financial controlling and financial planning processes of the DDIP, provide advice to its management on all matters of financial relevance, and contribute to human resources management as well as activities concerning other areas. The Directorate of Public International Law (DDIP) is the Confederation's competence center for matters pertaining to public international law and deals primarily with legal aspects connected to international relations and the foreign policy of Switzerland. The DDIP also contributes to the further development of public international law by participating in the negotiation, conclusion, and implementation of international treaties. Respect for and promotion of public international law have always been key elements of Swiss foreign policy, contributing to consolidating its consistency and credibility. The DDIP protects Switzerland's interests in matters of international law and monitors the correct interpretation and application of current norms by Swiss authorities, both within national borders and abroad.
