The Sozialpädiatrische Zentrum (SPZ) is an organizational unit at the Zentrum für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin of the Kantonsspital Winterthur. A therapy ward for children and adolescents was established for the field of inpatient psychosomatics. The services of the therapy ward apply to a total of 12-14 patients who are treated due to psychosomatic illnesses (including eating disorders, depression, pain disorders). During the day, the children and adolescents are cared for and supported by an interdisciplinary team consisting of social educators and nursing professionals in a milieu-therapeutic oriented setting. During the night, the care of the patients is guaranteed by a nursing professional.
