Counting nearly 1'300 employees, the Department of Psychiatry responds to a triple mission concerning the treatment of mental disorders, training, and research. Thus, the department's mission is to screen for and effectively treat increasingly frequent and polymorphic pathologies while respecting patients and their relatives.

The Liaison and Crisis Intervention Psychiatry Service handles the assessment, orientation, and follow-up of the interdisciplinary treatment of psychiatric disorders in patients who are hospitalized or followed within the framework of outpatient consultations at the various HUG sites. The service also has the mandate to welcome, care for, and orient patients addressing the HUG emergency department. The Service offers a stimulating and diverse clinical environment, at the heart of the hospital, favoring interactions with many medical and surgical specialty services. It also offers a high-quality training framework, with structured internal training including clinical presentations and other interactive pedagogical formats.

The Liaison Psychiatry Unit (UPL) is located at the interface between the different medical and surgical specialties on one hand, and psychiatry on the other. It is implemented through hospital modalities carried out at the patient's bedside, and for non-hospitalized patients, whose health status requires the organization of outpatient follow-up in a somatic specialty, following or not a hospitalization. Its deployment allows for the management of complex situations combining somatic manifestations or disorders with psychological suffering or manifestations. In all the services covered by liaison psychiatry, the UPL team, composed of psychiatrists and psychologists, is deployed to meet rich and varied clinical needs, always at the request of the physician in charge of the patient. Generally, the discipline of liaison psychiatry contributes, within the general hospital, to the development of a global and integrative approach to the patient transcending the body-psyche duality. The intended psychological interventions are based on this integrative vision and are part of the multidisciplinary work around the patient, around clinical, training, and research missions.

Job description ##

You will join the Liaison Psychiatry Unit (UPL) and ensure, within a multidisciplinary team, the assessment, orientation, and psychological and psychotherapeutic follow-up of patients hospitalized in somatic care units or followed as outpatients within the framework of care provided by the neurology, neurosurgery, and neurorehabilitation services under the supervision of a liaison psychiatrist. If you enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team, and you have an interest and/or experience in psychosomatics or liaison psychiatry, join the UPL.

Profile description ##

You hold a Master's degree in psychology and are in training or have obtained an MAS in psychotherapy. You have personal clinical experience in the field of psychosomatics or liaison psychiatry, and at least three years of clinical experience.

You have good abilities to work in a team, are able to cope with stress, and adapt to the diversity of clinical situations. You have a good capacity for analysis and synthesis and know how to work autonomously.

You possess the cantonal right to practice or are able to obtain it before starting your duties.

For non-French speaking candidates, a C1 level of French in spoken and written tests is required.
