For our client, an independent, non-profit company based in and with a strong focus in the Bern area, we are looking for a responsible and experienced payroll specialist for the Head of HR Services. The company offers professional services for a demanding clientele and is characterized by a dynamic environment, high quality standards, and a modern corporate culture. For the newly launched new way of working and team structure, we are looking for a committed personality who strengthens the team and consolidates and develops the processes and structures, as:

Your Tasks

• Leadership and further development of a five- to six-person payroll team – with the goal of further expanding expertise, individual responsibility, and good cooperation
• Overall responsibility for the payroll and time management of around 2,200 employees – including year-end tasks, settlements and declarations, as well as supporting audits and controls
• Responsibility for Abacus Payroll and Zeitmanagement and the ongoing further development of the systems and processes
• Not just managing the payroll department, but developing it further: simplifying processes, creating standards, and ensuring quality, efficiency, and profitability with meaningful KPIs
• Optimization of time management and ensuring that working hours, absences, and holidays are processed correctly and reliably
• Participation in or leading of payroll projects – from system adjustments and process optimizations to improving the interface between Abacus Payroll and Zeitmanagement
• Contact person for managers and HR regarding demanding questions related to wages, social insurance, working time, and payroll

Your Profile

• At least 5-8 years of experience in the field of payroll; leadership experience is a must-have
• Proficient in Swiss payroll accounting; withholding tax, social insurance, and labor law
• Experience with team organization and structural and process improvements, IT-savvy
• High organizational skills, high quality standards, and a strong role model function are desired
• German as a native language or level (C1 with diploma), any further language is an advantage
