The fire defense and rescue Operations service is advertising the following position
Regional inspector fire defense and rescue 80%-100%
Within an invested and experienced team, you will successfully carry out the missions entrusted to you by the cantonal inspector thanks to your in-depth knowledge of the firefighter field as well as your skills in project management. You will assume the tasks and responsibilities delegated by him in terms of organization, management, financial monitoring, training, control, and intervention. You are the local contact for the SDIS with the primary objective of promoting the development of a regional dynamic within the framework defined by the ECA.

You will no longer know routine because it is an engaging and exciting function; the sense of your missions will be at the heart of your profession. You will constantly alternate between your presence in the field and your involvement in the administrative tasks of the position.
You will have to manage multiple projects whether they are of a technical, organizational or even related to the challenges of the sector such as, for example, the promotion and enhancement of volunteering. You will develop operational concepts, you will validate various intervention reports and you will be the front contact for the SDIS.
As a senior officer, you will continue to intervene in events requiring your presence and will have to make decisions in various complex situations while maintaining collaboration with the involved SDIS. This operational component involves on-call services as well as sometimes irregular hours.
Finally, you will organize and/or lead cantonal training sessions intended for firefighters.
Your profile?
Having benefited from higher education, you have approximately 10 years of professional experience, notably in project management. A firefighter officer for more than 5 years, you are also a firefighter instructor or willing to become one. You also have good IT knowledge as well as good knowledge of the canton of Vaud and its institutions.
We expect you to have a sense of negotiation, a pragmatic solution-oriented spirit, and to demonstrate interpersonal skills and composure. Able to assume a heavy workload and flexible in your schedule (including evenings and weekends), you possess a good level of resistance to stress. As a representative of the cantonal authority, you are rigorous and possess a strong professional conscience.
