Tasks

We are looking for a committed person to collaborate on a research project investigating skin tissue from dogs with spontaneous and experimentally induced Cushing syndrome in cooperation with the Institute of Veterinary Pathology of the University of Bern. For this purpose, skin biopsies are available, which are to be evaluated histologically and using modern, AI-supported digital pathology software (Visiopharm).
The focus is on the identification of tissue markers that are relevant to the pathogenesis of Cushing syndrome and have an influence on wound healing. In addition to classic histological stains and immunohistochemical investigations, there is the possibility to apply modern multiplex tissue analyses and thereby get to know innovative methods of digital pathology.
After a six-month induction phase on-site in Bern, part of the evaluations is possible location-independently. If interested, there is also the possibility of later collaboration in the endocrinological outpatient clinic in Zurich. Previous knowledge in histology is an advantage, but not a requirement. Joy in working with the PC, careful laboratory work, and scientific working is more important to us.
