Senior ICT System Engineer Open Source (m/w/d)

For our client in the telecommunications environment, we are looking for an experienced personality as a Senior ICT System Engineer Open Source (m/w/d) for an exciting and demanding project in Bern

Your tasks

• Installation, integration and configuration of applications on Linux servers (RHEL) and OpenShift and on existing systems (e.g., LDAP, SSO, Mail, Backup, Reverse Proxy, Active Directory, Monitoring)
• Automation (e.g., with Ansible)
• Supporting the operations departments in troubleshooting
• Creation of documentation, user manuals and instructions
• Training and introduction of new tools
• System development & automation:
• Further development of the existing infrastructure (redundancies, automation, logging, monitoring)
• Further development of scripts and tooling (Python and Shell)
• Cooperation with DevSecOps, network and security teams

Your profile

• Technical degree (EFZ) with further education (FH/HF) in computer science desirable
• Profound knowledge in Linux system administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
• Experience with container orchestration, ideally OpenShift and Kubernetes
• Demonstrable experience in the implementation and operation of open-source applications on Linux and container platforms
• Good understanding of:
• Network technologies
• Web servers (Apache, Nginx)
• Databases (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• IT security concepts
• Confident handling of automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
• Experience with the automation of infrastructure and operational processes according to the principles:
• GitOps
• Infrastructure as Code
• Everything as Code
• CI/CD
• Willingness to undergo a personal security clearance (PSP) Switzerland
