• 22 July 2026 • 100% • Indefinite duration • Winterthur Network Engineer (100% m/f/d) immediately or by arrangement We currently operate approximately 50 IP Pops and more than 380 fiber optic Pops, and the focus is on the continuous development of our infrastructure. We are looking for you to advance this project and enrich the existing team with a motivated and experienced personality. You are at the forefront of the latest network technologies and ideally active in the network community (SwiNOG, RIPE, etc.) Tasks • Planning and implementation of projects as well as documentation of the international backbone of Init7 (AS13030). Extension, replacement and restructuring of existing POPs as well as creation of new POPs (including responsibility for deadlines) • Ensure the operation and maintain the high availability of our network infrastructure (mainly Cisco and Extreme Networks) • Planning, design and implementation of client projects (with components from Ubiquiti, MikroTik, Cisco, ZyXEL) • Handling of complex support cases (level 3 support) • Maintenance of technical documentation and development of monitoring systems (optimization & definition of guidelines) • Definition of implementation processes & training of employees • On-call service • Analysis, planning and implementation of network solutions (e.g. BGP, MPLS, VPN, DIA) including direct contact with clients • Knowledge and interest in multicast is an advantage • Implementation of internal network projects, introduction of new technologies as well as promotion of automation in operational exploitation (e.g. via Ansible) Requirements • Work permit in Switzerland or in the EU • Professional experience in a similar position with Cisco and/or Extreme Networks (Brocade) or Aris equipment • Great personal initiative • Cisco certifications or equivalent knowledge, you perfectly master all relevant protocols • Knowledge in traffic engineering and Transit/Peering/CDN principles • Experience with telemetry and configuration automation tools • Understanding of network and system security • English: very good oral and written skills • German: not mandatory, but an advantage • Other foreign languages welcome • Category B driver's license You will find a varied and interesting area of responsibility in a dynamic and innovative sector as well as a modern workplace in the center of Winterthur with the possibility of teleworking.
