SZBLIND is the national umbrella organization for the Swiss blind and visually impaired community. Since 1903, we have been working throughout Switzerland to improve the living conditions of people with visual impairments, deafblindness, and dual sensory impairments - through expertise, aids, research, awareness-raising, and direct support. At the Bern location, from July 2027 Olten, we are looking for an independent and proactive personality starting 01 November 2026 or by arrangement as a Social Work Professional (70%) ## Your area of responsibility In this function, you will accompany and advise people with deafblindness and dual sensory impairments as well as their personal environment in the assigned region (cantons of Bern, German-Fribourg/Valais/Jura) • You carry out social counseling and psychosocial counseling and clarify the individual situation together with the clients. • You advise on legal, social, and financial issues and access suitable internal and external support offers. • You mediate assistant persons and supervise your own pool of volunteer employees. • You work closely with internal specialists and external agencies and ensure coordinated, interdisciplinary support. • You maintain the regional professional network and participate occasionally in group offers, advocacy, and public relations work. Your profile In addition to your strong social competence and your interest in working with people with deafblindness and dual sensory impairments, you bring the following requirements: • You have a Bachelor's degree from a university of applied sciences in Social Work and bring at least three years of professional experience in social work. • You grasp complex life situations, recognize support needs, and develop suitable and sustainable solutions together with the clients. • You communicate in a manner appropriate to the addressee and adapt your communication to different needs; very good German is a requirement, French or sign language are an advantage. • You work interdisciplinary and cooperatively and systematically build and maintain contacts with specialist agencies, authorities, and other partners in your region. • You act independently and responsibly, organize your work in a structured manner, and are open to continuously developing your expertise and area of responsibility.
