The Berufsfachschule Winterthur is a lively place of work and learning with around 3800 learners and over 200 teachers. To ensure that our learners and employees feel comfortable in our five school buildings and that school operations function smoothly, we need people who roll up their sleeves, think ahead, and maintain an overview.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed personality as a janitor with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education as Facility Manager starting 01.02.2027

Your task - versatile, responsible and in the middle of school operations ###

As part of our team, you contribute significantly to ensuring that our buildings and facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained at all times. You undertake versatile maintenance and value preservation work in our five school buildings as well as in the outdoor area and, together with the team, ensure daily operational operations.

In doing so, you are not only responsible for professional building maintenance, but you also undertake control, maintenance, and inspection work, take care of professional disposal, inventory management, and support various internal services. You can also be counted on in special situations: you perform winter services, pay attention to accident prevention, safety, and provide first aid.

Another important part of your activity is the guidance and promotion of learners as a practical trainer. You enjoy passing on your specialist knowledge and thereby contribute to the training of the next generation of professionals.

As a committed and responsible personality, you also support the domestic operations management and take over their deputy role if required. The willingness to work early and late shifts as well as on-call duties (night, weekends, and holidays) is also part of this varied function.

What you bring with you ###

You have completed vocational training as a Specialist in Facility Management EFZ or have a manual or technical apprenticeship with EFZ. Ideally, you possess the Federal Diploma of Higher Education as a Facility Manager or are willing to acquire it within the next two years. Additionally, you bring training as a vocational trainer and the qualification as a safety officer for fire protection (GVZ SiBe). We require first aid training including a resuscitation course as well as a category B driver's license.

For this responsible task, you have at least three years of professional and leadership experience. Experience in a school operation is an advantage.
Personally, you convince through your reliable, independent, and careful way of working. You like to roll up your sleeves, work exactly and expeditiously, and maintain an overview even in hectic situations. At the same time, you are helpful, communicative, a team player, and flexible. You enjoy developing yourself and are willing to undergo further training according to the requirements of the school.
Good German skills in speaking and writing as well as the willingness to work early and late shifts and on-call duties round off your profile.
