Specialist: Data & Research Services

The Directorate for Teaching and Research (DLF), acting as a link between the University of Bern and the Insel Gruppe, improves the framework conditions for high-quality research. The Research Data & Services area enables data-driven research and digital research administration. We provide modern data and IT services, advise researchers, and create the prerequisites for innovative research. What to expect <br /> • As an employee of the DLF research support, you will advise and accompany researchers in demanding research projects involving patient data. • You are the central point of contact for questions regarding data access, data infrastructure, as well as coordination with different specialist departments and experts. • You will undertake tasks of scientific administration, particularly the review of study protocols as well as governance and compliance reviews. • You advise researchers on the use of the clinical information system EPIC for research, data extraction, and analytics. • You support research projects in the fields of AI, Big Data, and data-driven research and provide advice on suitable data and analysis infrastructure. • You analyze the requirements of data-intensive research projects and advise researchers on suitable data, infrastructure, and service offerings for applications in the field of AI, such as Machine Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs). • You develop and optimize processes and services to enable data-based research to be efficient, compliant, and future-oriented. • You make an important contribution to the further development of Data & Research Services and strengthen data-driven research at the University Hospital. <br /> What you bring <br /> • You have a completed university degree in a medical, natural science, or comparable field and bring professional experience in the environment of research or health data. • You are interested in data-driven research as well as topics such as Big Data, AI, and modern data platforms. • You work in a solution- and service-oriented manner and communicate confidently with different stakeholders in German and English. • A structured, careful, and reliable way of working as well as traceable documentation are a matter of course for you. • You maintain an overview even with complex issues and enjoy working interdisciplinary with researchers, IT, and specialist departments. <br /> Our offer <br /> • Innovative and committed team in a dynamic environment of data-driven research at the Inselspital • Varied and responsible activity with a direct contribution to innovative research projects in the field of Big Data and AI • Structured induction into a versatile and future-oriented area of responsibility • Diverse continuing education and development opportunities within the Insel Gruppe • The opportunity to actively help shape the future of data-driven research <br /> Questions about the position?
