Head of Finance & Controlling (80–100 %)

Complemedis AG in Trimbach and Phytax GmbH in Schlieren are two independent Swiss companies with different fields of activity.

Complemedis is a pharmaceutical company and a specialized pharmacy with a focus on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The company imports high-quality pharmaceutical raw materials and produces individual medicinal products from them.

Phytax is a GMP-certified analytical laboratory specializing in the quality testing of natural substances. The analytical spectrum includes, among others, herbal medicines, medical cannabis, food, and dietary supplements.

For the joint management of the finance and controlling areas of both companies, we are looking for a committed, digitally-savvy personality who takes responsibility, thinks entrepreneurially, and enjoys rolling up their sleeves. A particular focus lies on the automation and digitalization of our accounting processes.

Your tasks

Finance & Accounting

• Overall responsibility for the finance and accounting of both companies, including quarterly and annual financial statements
• Management of operational accounting
• Ensuring proper accounts receivable and accounts payable accounting as well as payment transactions
• Monitoring of liquidity and financial planning

Controlling

• Establishment and further development of meaningful management reporting for both companies
• Budgeting, forecasts, and analysis of business KPIs
• Creation of product calculations, contribution margin, and profitability analyses
• Support of the management in business-related questions

HR Administration

• Responsibility for personnel administration including payroll and social insurance
• Creation and management of employment contracts, work certificates, and other personnel documents
• Administrative processing of entries and exits, contract changes, and absences
• Coordination of labor law issues with an external expert

Digitalization, Automation & Processes

• Systematic analysis of existing processes and identification of automation potential
• Conception and implementation of automated processes, particularly in invoice processing, payment allocation, dunning management, and reporting
• Further development of the software solutions used and optimization of interfaces between the systems
• Ensuring efficient, transparent, and traceable workflows and internal control mechanisms
• Cooperation with external partners such as fiduciary, audit, and IT service providers

Your profile

• Sound training in finance and accounting, for example, federal diploma (eidg. Fachausweis) or comparable qualification
• Professional experience in the finance and accounting of a Swiss SME
• Proficiency in closing accounts according to Swiss accounting law and good knowledge of VAT
• Experience in controlling and enjoyment of business analyses
• Good knowledge of Swiss payroll and personnel administration. Strong IT affinity and practical experience in the digitalization or automation of commercial processes
• Ability to critically question existing processes and independently drive pragmatic improvements
• Independent, structured, and reliable way of working
• Entrepreneurial thinking, initiative, and a strong hands-on mentality
• Enjoyment of working in a small team
