Oester Messtechnik GmbH is a young, dynamic company based in Thun. Our innovative team specializes in the acquisition and processing of spatial data as well as measurement data in the fields of landfill and biogas.

Methane emissions from landfills and biogas plants are not only relevant to safety, but also have a major impact on the climate. We localize and quantify these emissions, thereby providing our customers with important decision-making bases – also with regard to climate protection.

Project Manager Landfill and Biogas / Climate Protection

Your Tasks

After an induction period, you will plan and carry out measurement campaigns at old disposal sites, in operational landfills, and on biogas plants. We usually travel in pairs and will support you in expanding your gas-specific knowledge. You will learn how to handle the numerous measuring devices from scratch with us.

The measurement data collected in the field all have a spatial reference. Therefore, they are recorded directly in the GIS (QField) and then further processed in the office with QGIS. This enables us to have centralized data storage and a semi-automated evaluation of the measurement data.

You will contribute your experience in the field of contaminated sites or landfills to carry out assessments and demonstrate possible solutions as part of technical investigations or remediation projects.

In the long term, you will accompany all steps of a project with us: from the offer through the field work and the report to the invoice. In our small team, each of us bears responsibility for our common success.

Your Profile

• You have completed a degree with a scientific orientation at a university.
• Ideally, you have already been able to gain professional experience in the areas of landfill, contaminated sites, or biogas.
• You bring knowledge of environmental legislation (from studies or practice).
• You have GIS knowledge (preferably QGIS) or also knowledge in the processing of measurement data.
• You write German with stylistic confidence and do not shy away from communicating in French.
• You enjoy working in the field.
• You possess a driver's license.
• You are motivated to dive into the world of landfill and biogas and to take on responsibility in the process.
