On the crisis intervention station of the Universitäres Psychiatrisches Zentrum Bern, you accompany adults in acute psychological exceptional states during the night and contribute decisively to ensuring stability, security, and orientation. At the location of the Universitäre Psychiatrische Dienste at the Inselspital, we offer specialized care services for adults in psychosocial crises. At night, you take on a central role in the treatment team: You work independently, make decisions appropriate to the situation, and ensure a stable framework with your professional competence and calm. Your presence, attentiveness, and empathy make the difference – especially when people are particularly vulnerable. Your tasks You care for and support people in acute crises in the acute-psychiatric environment during the night You take responsibility for the safety, stability, and well-being of the patients You observe the psychological and somatic condition, recognize changes early, and initiate necessary measures You implement medical orders independently and work closely with the medical on-call service You create a therapeutic, calm night atmosphere and accompany patients in challenging situations You ensure careful nursing documentation as well as a structured handover to the day shift Your profile You have a diploma as a nursing professional FH / HF and ideally bring experience in the acute-psychiatric field You enjoy working independently, responsibly, and make secure decisions even at night You maintain calm and overview in complex or tense situations You have a high level of social and self-competence as well as an appreciative attitude towards patients You have good German language skills in speaking and writing The UPZ The Universitäre Psychiatrische Zentrum Bern (UPZ) is, as a university clinic, the leading competence center for psychiatry and psychotherapy in the capital region.
