Description ###

As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner, Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are looking for motivated and committed Senior Mechanical Engineers Transfer- and Automation Systems for a temporary assignment of one year with the option for extension, starting immediately or by arrangement.

Tasks & Responsibilities ###

• Subject Matter Expertise (SME): Act as the primary subject matter expert for XYZ transfer systems, automated handling technologies, flexible feeding systems, and precise pick-and-place mechanisms (including customer-specific end effectors and grippers).
• Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Guidance and mentoring of colleagues in the field of mechatronic product development and innovation projects, while simultaneously establishing best practices, design concepts, and modular standards across various projects.
• Modular Design & Development: Development of reusable mechatronic modules and standardized architectures to maximize efficiency within the Business Area and beyond.
• Calculations & Simulation: Design of drive and motion components (actuators, motors, pneumatics) as well as performing FEA and kinematics simulations to optimize cycle times, load limits, and dynamic system behavior.
• Project & Work Package Management: Planning, estimating, and executing technical work packages while adhering to effort, budget, and deadline specifications. Developing decision-making processes and early identification and escalation of potential project deviations.
• Analytical Problem Solving & Verification: Performing 1D/3D tolerance analyses and root cause analyses, monitoring physical prototype tests, and presenting data-driven redesign solutions to stakeholders and product managers.
• Technical Documentation: Creation, review, and maintenance of formal technical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Effective collaboration with internal and external partners such as production, purchasing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, service, and external suppliers.

Must-Haves ###

• Successfully completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related engineering science.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g., medical technology, diagnostics, or GxP environment).
• Expertise in transfer systems or automation: Sound knowledge in the mechatronic design of XYZ transfer systems, automation technologies, or robotic arm applications.
• Calculations & physical simulation: Strong practical knowledge in mechanical calculations (drive/motor design, moments of inertia, structural loads) and simulations (FEA, motion/kinematics analysis with tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, or native CAD motion modules).
• CAD, PLM & Tolerance Calculation: Sound practical knowledge in CATIA V5 and/or SolidWorks, SAP-DVS systems, as well as sound knowledge of the ISO 8015 standard (Geometric Product Specification / Form and Position Tolerances).
• Design for Excellence (DFX) & Commissioning: In-depth knowledge of Design for Manufacturing in various manufacturing technologies, material selection, and practical experience in the industrialization of products to series production readiness.
• Business fluent German and English skills in speaking and writing are required, excellent analytical and systematic way of working, high adaptability, and strong teamwork skills.
