NMS Bern is a nationwide unique, privately organized, non-profit educational institution with a 175-year tradition, working closely with cantonal institutions. December 2026 or by arrangement an individual psychologist or psychological psychotherapist in a school psychological function/counseling function for our Sekundarstufe II: Fachmittelschule and Gymnasium (50%) Your tasks You advise and accompany learners with special needs and support teachers, learners, and classes in crisis situations. You work closely with the school management, case management, school social work, and external specialist agencies to support learners and actively participate in the further development of cooperation structures. You participate in the further development of school-internal processes to support learners with special needs and contribute to the continuous professionalization of teachers in child and adolescent psychological subject areas. You advise and support (class) teachers and the rectorate in challenging student-related issues, including admission procedures for learners with special needs and biographies, as well as in connection with compensation for disadvantages and the professional assessment and weighting of diagnostic reports. Through your support and advice to (class) teachers, you promote their competence in dealing with psychosocial challenges in the medium and long term. You recognize hazards early, initiate appropriate measures in cooperation with the rectorate, school social work, and case management if necessary, and ensure the professional handling of child and adult protection issues. You document counseling processes carefully and in compliance with data protection, thereby contributing to the high-quality support of our learners within a multiprofessional team and to internal communication in the specialist and management teams. In the newly assembled support team of the Matura schools of NMS Bern, you will actively help shape the structures and processes of school psychology at this level and contribute your professional perspective to school development. You regularly participate in various quality assurance and development formats (intervision, supervision, case discussions, further training). Your profile You have a university or technical college degree in psychology (at Master's or Licentiate level). Furthermore, you have completed specialist training in child and adolescent psychology. You are familiar with the Bernese school and education system and have several years of experience in the field of child and adolescent psychology. You are a team player and enjoy working with the specialist team, the school management, and the teachers – and you value this close involvement as part of your professional self-image. You are a resilient, empathetic, and communicative personality with high social competence who maintains an overview in a lively school environment. You communicate confidently in German (spoken and written); knowledge of another national language is an advantage.
