In this role, you will work as part of a DevOps team on the development, maintenance, and optimization of modern data platforms. You will design data products, ensure the stable operation of Spark ETL, and support the team in automation, operation, cost optimization, and the further development of the existing Big Data stack. Tasks: • Development and maintenance of an AWS-based data infrastructure and corresponding data pipelines • Optimization and ensuring the operation of Spark ETL for efficient data processing • Development and maintenance of robust data pipelines in cooperation with data owners and data analysts • Analysis of requirements as well as conception and implementation of data products in the Big Data stack • Support and coaching of data engineers in automation, operation, and further development of the development stack • Close cooperation with business stakeholders and architecture to align technical solutions with business needs • Support in the cost optimization of existing AWS services • Participation in migrations to new tools and technologies • Ensuring stable, traceable, and maintainable data solutions in the DevOps environment Experience: • University degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience in the data engineering environment • Several years of experience as a data engineer, ideally in cloud-based data platforms • Sound experience in data processing with Apache Spark, SQL and • Experience in the development, maintenance, and optimization of ETL processes and data pipelines • Experience with AWS-based data platforms and Big Data architectures • Experience in DevOps teams as well as understanding of operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data pipelines • Interest or experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and Terraform • Experience with AWS Analytics Services such as Glue, SageMaker, Athena, Lambda, or Batch is an advantage • Knowledge of Scala or Java is an advantage • Agile mindset, team orientation, and joy in actively sharing knowledge with colleagues • Good German skills as well as good English skills Reference no.: 925172DO Role: Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) Location: Bern and region Percentage: 100% (remote partially possible, predominantly onsite) Start: End: Should this position have piqued your interest, please send us your complete dossier via the link in this advertisement.
