Senior Registrar with or without a specialty title in gastroenterology and hepatology - 80 to 100%

As a senior registrar, you ensure the care of hospitalized and outpatient female and male patients presenting with gastroenterological and hepatological pathologies. You participate in the diagnostic and therapeutic activities of the department, including endoscopic procedures.

You collaborate closely with assistant physicians and multidisciplinary teams in order to develop the most appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

You demonstrate resilience, clinical sense, and a high capacity for analysis in managing sometimes complex situations. Thanks to your sense of organization and your ability to prioritize, you efficiently ensure your clinical activities while responding to multiple demands (patients, telephones, correspondence, meetings).

You evolve in a demanding environment, at the interface of care, teaching, and research. In this capacity, you collaborate closely with the entire medical care team and ensure clear, fluid, and respectful communication, both with your colleagues and with female and male patients, by adapting your discourse to their understanding.

Relying on your team spirit, you demonstrate solidarity in the face of unforeseen events. As a senior registrar, you actively participate in the supervision and training of resident doctors and medical interns of the medicine department in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology, adopting a mentoring posture and sharing your expertise.

You hold a federal medical diploma or possess training deemed equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales of the Office fédéral de la santé publique (MEBEKO).

For senior registrars with a specialty title, you benefit from an FMH title in gastroenterology and hepatology or you have a title deemed equivalent recognized by MEBEKO and possess the cantonal right of practice or are able to obtain it before your start of duty from the cantonal doctor of Genève.

You have 4 years of experience in hospital general internal medicine followed by 3 years in gastroenterology and hepatology.

For non-French speaking persons, a C1 level in French for both spoken and written tests is required.

You have excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with the patient population, you are a dynamic, flexible, committed person and demonstrate discretion. Furthermore, you have demonstrated strong adaptability and a strong team spirit and solidarity towards team members.

You can work both in daytime hours, as well as night and weekend hours.

Within this department, the Service de gastro-entérologie et d'hépatologie provides, on non-surgical diagnostic and therapeutic levels, care for female and male patients suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, liver, biliary tract, and pancreas, taking into account the services provided by other HUG services. It ensures the interventional endoscopic, percutaneous, and transhepatic services of the aforementioned organs.

This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment which aims to ensure the compliance of work organization with the Loi sur le travail (LTr).
