Are you an experienced person from the field of justice and want to make a significant contribution to ensuring the constitutionally guaranteed and independent civil and criminal judiciary in the canton of Bern? We are looking for a committed Court Inspector who, with vision and precision, systematically ensures the constitutional operation and efficiency of the Bernese civil and criminal judiciary. In this responsible function, you will head the Court Inspectorate and be the direct contact person for the High Court Presidency and the Management of the High Court. Your tasks In this unique, challenging key position, you will be technically and personally in charge of the Court Inspectorate. Your focus is on ensuring an independent, constitutionally compliant and functioning civil and criminal judiciary: You collect and evaluate strategic key figures, derive optimization suggestions from them and carry out periodic inspections at the first-instance court authorities. In doing so, you identify and evaluate risks in court operations (e.g. procedure durations or pending cases) and propose adequate measures to the management and the High Court Presidency. As a competent advisor, you support the decision-makers in all supervisory-relevant topics and contribute to the stability of the Bernese civil and criminal judiciary by reviewing the personnel equipment of the courts. Furthermore, you examine supervisory law notifications and extrajudicial activities with regard to the independence of the judiciary.
