This is a fixed-term contract of one year, which can be extended up to 3 years (funded by the FNS)

Laboratory description: The pharmacology unit of the Faculté des sciences et de médecine of the Université de Fribourg studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying metabolic and redox signaling in health and disease. The Zuhra group focuses on the biology of endogenously produced cyanide, exploring its role as a new gasotransmitter and its impact on cellular metabolism and cell signaling (www.unifr.ch/med/en/research/group/zuhra/).

Requirements

Experienced and motivated laboratory technician to support our research with 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience in basic biochemical and molecular biology techniques (preparation of solutions, pH measurement, performing Western blots, cell culture, etc.). Experience or strong motivation to work with confocal imaging and cellular bioenergetics would be a plus.

Degree (CFC / BSc or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related field (experience in cancer research would be a plus)

Experience with in vivo models (mice, rats). FELASA category B accreditation (EU functions A, C, D) or Swiss equivalent, i.e., Module1/LTK1 required

Great sense of organization, precision, and reliability

Selections will be made on a continuous basis

Good written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of French or German is an advantage
