In order to strengthen our teams, we are looking for a Process Development Engineer (M/F).

Job Description ###

Your mission :

• Develop, optimize and industrialize thin-film optical coating processes for new products and technologies, as well as for the major improvement of existing manufacturing processes
• Design innovative production concepts and define technical requirements relating to coating equipment, manufacturing systems, automation and new production technologies
• Act as a technical expert for coated optical components, conduct feasibility studies and transform complex technical customer requirements into robust and industrializable manufacturing solutions
• Develop and implement metrology and in-line measurement solutions in collaboration with the Quality, R&D and other technical departments in order to guarantee process control and product performance
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure the efficient transfer of new coating processes to mass production, notably through their qualification, stability and capability (Cpk, Ppk, Cgk)
• Plan and coordinate production trials, equipment installation, process qualification as well as ramp-up phases in collaboration with the Production, Engineering, Maintenance and Quality teams
• Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and evaluate the technologies of tomorrow such as automation, artificial intelligence, advanced measurement systems and data-based manufacturing
• Lead cross-functional process development projects and provide your technical expertise within the framework of commercial offers and exchanges with customers concerning new products and technologies

Profile ###

Desired profile :

• Holder of a Master's degree in physics, materials science, engineering, optics/photonics, surface science or in an equivalent technical field
• Benefit of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the fields of thin-film coatings, process development, R&D, production engineering or industrialization, ideally within a high-tech industrial environment or precision optics
• Solid knowledge of thin-film deposition technologies and optical coatings, process optimization and characterization methods. Experience with coating equipment and vacuum technologies, a major asset
• Experience in optical metrology, measurement systems and process capability assessment methods, an asset
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a pragmatic, structured and solution-oriented approach
• Demonstrated experience in technical project management and in interdisciplinary collaboration with R&D, Production, Quality, Engineering and Product Development teams
• Strong interest in emerging industrial technologies such as automation, digitalization, artificial intelligence and advanced metrology systems
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lean Manufacturing principles, an asset
• Fluent proficiency in French and English required, both spoken and written
