September 2026 or by arrangement Work location: Krauchthal We execute sanctions for 180 men from over 40 nations in closed custody. Our 140 employees commit themselves daily to the reintegration of offenders into society and thereby make an important contribution to public safety. In eleven workshops, we lead and promote the prisoners according to work-agogic principles. Our programs in the areas of work, therapy, education, sport, and leisure are consistently aimed at risk reduction and the social integration of the admitted persons. Together with the health service of the JVA, you are responsible for the professional assessment, counseling, and care of the admitted persons (EP) in health matters. Your tasks You conduct a weekly general medical consultation for the EP, prescribe assessments and treatments, and continue existing treatments. You perform admission examinations of EP newly admitted to the JVA and assess the capacity to work of EP. You refer the EP to specialist physicians or to the security station of the Inselspital if necessary. You are responsible for substitution-supported treatments of EP and initiate withdrawal treatment according to current treatment standards. You work closely with nursing and care staff as well as psychiatrists and psychotherapists in case discussions. You monitor prescriptions and treatments of the nursing staff, the execution of which you have delegated to the team. You document the therapeutic measures, referrals, and medication prescriptions for the EP that you have prescribed in the electronic patient documentation system «EPAplus». Your profile You possess a specialist title in internal medicine and/or surgery and several years of professional experience. You can demonstrate experience with sonography diagnostics and their evaluation. You are very responsible and independent.
