Test Engineer RF (m/f/d)

Mastering the RF spectrum – Symlab AG was founded in 2016 and is growing steadily in the development and production of devices such as jammers, receivers, transmitters, monitoring and classification devices, radio direction finders and anti-drone equipment. Symlab AG, headquartered in Freienbach, is a subsidiary of Global Clearance Solutions AG, which removes explosive threats and enables the reconstruction of war zones.

For our Symlab team, we are looking for you as a Test Engineer RF (m/f/d). In this role, you will work on the verification of complex RF systems and will be a central interface between development, quality and external testing laboratories.

• Execution and evaluation of RF measurements at the system level and on assemblies
• Operation of RF measuring instruments (e.g., spectrum analyzer, network analyzer (VNA), signal generator, oscilloscope)
• Specification, planning and monitoring of qualification and environmental tests (e.g., MIL, AECTP) with external laboratories
• Analysis of measurement results and derivation of improvement measures
• Systematic troubleshooting and localization of error causes on assemblies and, prospectively, at the system level
• Development and definition of test concepts, test procedures and limit values
• Support in the automation of tests and evaluations (e.g., Python, Excel)
• Close cooperation with development, production and external partners
• Training in electrical engineering (EFZ / HF / FH / Bachelor or comparable)
• Experience in the field of RF measurement technology
• Experience in handling common RF measuring instruments (e.g., VNA, spectrum analyzer)
• Experience in structured troubleshooting and analysis of electronic systems
• Analytical thinking skills and a structured way of working
• Experience with qualification or environmental tests or external testing laboratories is an advantage
• Good to very good German and English skills

Advantageous

• Knowledge in test automation (e.g., Python, SCPI/VISA)
• Experience with environmental and temperature tests
• Knowledge in statistical evaluation / quality methods
• SMD soldering skills or experience in hardware debugging
