The Hochschule Luzern – Informatik is the first computer science department at a university of applied sciences. We offer Bachelor's and Master's degree programs that are in demand in business and science, as well as continuing education at the pulse of the times, application-oriented research in current subject areas, and practice-oriented services.
The AI Robotics Lab at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology investigates the application possibilities of artificial intelligence and robotic systems in various fields. Examples include Physical AI, human-machine collaboration with cobots, as well as the navigation of mobile robotics. The team researches algorithms for perception, motion planning, and autonomous decision-making. For our laboratory, we are looking for an experienced and committed specialist to strengthen our team in application-oriented research and development.

Your tasks
Software development and programming of algorithms for perception, motion planning, and decision-making of robots
Experimental research & laboratories: Setting up test environments and demonstrators, conducting scientific studies, supporting robotics events and hackathons
Supporting the development team in all phases of the research and development process, from concept development to practical implementation, as well as co-responsibility for the hardware infrastructure of the laboratory (cobots, mobile platforms, walking robotics, sensor systems, ...)
Contributions to research through support and collaboration in writing scientific papers, as well as presentation of results at specialist conferences
Support of education and continuing education in the field of robotics & artificial intelligence
Your profile
Successfully completed university degree (Bachelor or Master) in computer science, robotics, AI/ML, data science, or a related engineering degree program
Expertise in the field of robotics and AI, as well as sound knowledge in ROS/ROS2
Proficient programming skills in at least one relevant language (and/or C++)
Good communication and organizational skills
Good English skills
Ability for multitasking, quick and efficient problem solving, as well as independent working
