Director* Der Schweizerische Turnverband (STV) – More than gymnastics. «We enable sport, movement and experiences for all throughout Switzerland, in order to create community and well-being.» With around 375,000 members and 2,650 clubs, the Schweizerische Turnverband is the largest, multi-sport sports association in Switzerland. To successfully fulfill our tasks in our athletic and performance-oriented environment, we need a convincing team. To complement our team, we are looking for a Director* as of 1. November 2026 or by arrangement. The STV, its cantonal associations and gymnastics clubs, as the largest sports provider in Switzerland, offer a diverse, easily accessible range of services and promote prevention as well as competition-oriented grassroots and elite sports. Furthermore, the STV represents the interests of its members towards sport, politics and economy in a national and international context. As Director*, you will be responsible, together with the executive management, for the operational management of the head office as well as the Verbandszentrum Magglingen and will implement the vision as well as the strategic decisions of the Central Board. You create the prerequisites for achieving the defined objectives and for compliance with ethical fundamental values. We are looking for an inspiring and committed leadership personality. Your tasks In this demanding role, you bear the overall personnel, organizational and operational responsibility for the head office in Aarau as well as the Verbandszentrum in Magglingen with around 125 employees and over 370 volunteers. You work closely with the presidency, report directly to the Central Board and implement the strategic requirements effectively. Together with the Central Board, you position and represent the STV towards Swiss Olympic, the Bund/BASPO, the cantons, the international gymnastics associations World Gymnastics and European Gymnastics as well as other stakeholders. You identify relevant developments early on and contribute in particular to ensuring that the STV is among the leading associations in sport regarding sports promotion, ethics and sustainability. You ensure that governance, structures and processes are designed in a modern way, that the organization is professionally developed and that the head office is available to the member associations as a modern, service-oriented and reliable partner. As head of the executive management, you promote a performance-oriented, integral and value-based organizational culture. You strengthen cross-departmental cooperation and ensure clear and professional internal as well as external communication. You are responsible for ensuring long-term association financing and are responsible for budget planning/control and steer the allocation of resources. Your profile You have a completed higher education and are an experienced leadership personality with several years of management experience at C-level. You bring a high affinity to (gymnastics) sport or ideally have experience in a voluntary or full-time function in (gymnastics) sport. You have good knowledge of the national and international gymnastics and sports landscape. You are experienced in working in demanding multi-stakeholder environments and are adept in dealing with cantonal, national and international contact persons as well as the media. You are prepared to build an organizational structure together with the strategic leadership and, as a result, to take on a central leadership role in the future organization. You are highly resilient, have diplomatic skill and a natural authority characterizes you as much as high social competence, integrity and loyalty. You are proficient in negotiation in German and French, have good English skills and ideally also speak Italian.
