We are looking for a: Laboratory Technician (m/f/d) Microbiological Quality Control – Microbiology Team (LSB) – Kaiseraugst Background ----------- The QC mEMT Basel unit within QC Microbiology is responsible for the microbiological environmental monitoring of GMP cleanrooms as well as for the monitoring of GMP high-purity media in production buildings at the Basel site. The activities concern both drug substance and IMP production areas. The scope of tasks includes sampling in defined cleanroom zones using surface swabs as well as active and passive air germ collection. Additionally, water and gas samples are taken from high-purity media. Depending on the requirements, the obtained samples are filtered, incubated, evaluated, or forwarded to other specialist departments. --- Your Profile You have completed training as a biology or chemistry laboratory technician, chemistry or pharmaceutical technologist, or have a comparable qualification. Ideally, you bring practical experience in microbiological laboratory work as well as in the field of microbiological environmental monitoring. Knowledge of GMP requirements and the associated documentation is an advantage. You communicate fluently in German and are characterized by a very careful, structured, and practice-oriented way of working. Ability to work in a team, accuracy, and openness to change round off your profile. --- Tasks and Responsibilities • Preparation and execution of microbiological sampling such as air germ collection, surface swabs, and particle monitoring in cleanrooms • Execution of microbiological and chemical-physical sampling of high-purity media such as WFI and gases • Filtration of different water qualities such as WFI and PW • Incubation, evaluation, and documentation of results in LIMS • Organization and execution of sample logistics --- Must Haves • Completed training as a biology or chemistry laboratory technician, chemistry or pharmaceutical technologist, or equivalent qualification • Experience in microbiological laboratory work, ideally in microbiological environmental monitoring • Knowledge of GMP systems and GMP documentation is an advantage • Fluent German skills • Very careful, accurate, and structured way of working • Practical skill and strong quality orientation • High team spirit and willingness to actively support changes --- General Information • Start date: 01.02.2026 • Planned employment duration: 9 months (sickness replacement) • Extension: rather unlikely • Place of work: Basel, B73 • Workload: 100 % • Home Office: not possible • Team: 6 employees • Working hours: Standard • GMP-relevant environment: Yes • Criminal record extract required: Yes Dissatisfied, underchallenged, or ready to discover something new? -------------------------------------------------------------------- What are you waiting for?
