The Kantonale Walliser Rettungsorganisation (KWRO) in Siders is the heart of the Valais rescue services. It provides its services on behalf of the State of Valais and operates the medical emergency call center 144. Your challenge: As part of its activities, the KWRO is looking for a Head of IT, responsible for the availability, security and future viability of the IT and telecommunications environment in a critical environment of medical emergency care. Your main tasks: * Ensuring the availability, security and integrity of the IT and telecommunications infrastructure, especially the medical emergency call center 144. * Ensuring business continuity and IT crisis management, including cyber attacks, physical damage as well as outages of critical locations or suppliers. * Definition and implementation of the IT strategy, governance and standards in cooperation with the Executive Committee. * Responsibility for IT security, risk management and data protection, including the function as DPO. * Management of IT projects, further development of systems and technological innovation, especially evaluation and governance of the use of AI. * Ensuring the quality, governance and use of the organization's data. * Leadership, development and organization of a small IT team, with a focus on competence assurance and service continuity. * Management of external service providers, contracts, public tenders and IT budgets. * Definition, further development and monitoring of IT processes, quality standards and performance indicators. * Representation of the organization in technical networks and committees of the West Swiss medical emergency call centers. * Active participation in the Executive Committee, especially in strategy, risk management, budget and performance control. * Ensuring availability during major crises and participation in the technical on-call service. Your profile: * Training as an IT engineer or equivalent qualification. * Several years of experience in managing critical IT infrastructures, ideally in the health, safety or emergency sector. * Sound knowledge of IT quality and security standards, especially ITIL / ISO 20000 and ISO 27001. * Training or certification in the field of data protection / DPO (or willingness to complete this training upon starting the position). * Experience in team leadership and project management. * German or French as a mother tongue as well as very good knowledge of the respective other language. Your personal strengths * Distinct ability to manage crisis situations and make decisions under pressure. * Leadership and ability to lead and motivate a small technical team. * Distinct negotiation and communication skills, especially when dealing with contracts and suppliers. * Careful and structured way of working as well as a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality. * Very good written expression skills. * Organizational talent as well as the ability to set priorities, plan and develop concepts. * Independence, initiative and self-reflection. * Enjoyment of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
