Social Worker (50 %) as maternity cover

The Social Department includes an assessment service, the Social Service for Children and Youth, the Social Service for Adults, Central Services, the Social Audit Office, the Health Promotion Specialist Office, and the Labor Integration Specialist Office. For the assessment service, we are looking for, from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement, a fixed-term Social Worker (50 %) as maternity cover ## Your tasks ### • Initial assessment, networking, coordination, and initiating immediate measures in the areas of social assistance and adult protection • Assessments in the area of adult protection on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB) • New intake and clarification of entitlement for social assistance applications • Counseling and support of persons regarding material, financial, legal, and personal issues with the goal of professional and social integration You bring ### • Degree in Social Work (University of Applied Sciences or University) • Several years of professional experience in statutory social assistance and/or adult protection • Comprehensive knowledge in subsidiarity and social insurance issues • Ability to work in a team, flexibility, resilience, quick comprehension, as well as good organizational and administrative working methods • Communication and conflict resolution skills, initiative, and innovativeness • Very good German skills in speaking and writing What awaits you ### • Versatile and exciting activity in a dedicated and well-coordinated team • Independent work with creative freedom in an attractive and varied field of work • Contemporary employment conditions with the possibility of home office • Very attractive and centrally located workplace on the Aare • Subscriptions for Strandbad Thun, Flussbad Schwäbis, Kunsteisbahn Thun, and Stadtbibliothek Thun • Care allowance in addition to the family allowance
