Tasks

• You design, implement, and operate modern Windows-based platforms and actively develop them further (focus of the position on engineering, with active participation in operations)
• Together with the team, you ensure stable and secure operation throughout the entire lifecycle (Run/Operate & Improve): monitoring/alerting, incident/problem management, patch/release management, capacity/performance, as well as availability
• You drive standardization, automation, and hardening (security) of the system environments (e.g., via IaC/scripting)
• You take on engineering responsibility for lifecycle topics: design, build, patch/release management, capacity, performance, as well as availability
• You analyze malfunctions sustainably, perform root-cause analyses, and establish lasting improvements (problem management)
• You work in company-wide projects as a technical lead or specialist and contribute your know-how
• You advise application owners and internal teams on infrastructure, architecture, security, and operating models
• You maintain system, architecture, and operational documentation, standards, and runbooks and ensure their availability
• After the induction period, you will take on on-call services in defined rotations and ensure operational security even outside office hours
• Planned maintenance windows and changes take place regularly outside office hours as well as on weekends (depending on need)

Requirements

• Completed IT training (EFZ/HF/FH) or comparable, several years of practical experience as a Windows System Engineer
• Very good knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server & Clients, MS SQL (near-operational), Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange (Online/Hybrid), Teams/VoIP
• Experience with virtualization technologies, ideally VMware (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter)
• Good knowledge of network technologies and security basics (LAN/WLAN, Cisco, hardening, identity & access concepts)
• Experience with backup/restore and storage (e.g., Veeam) as well as monitoring/logging
• Strong skills in automation & scripting (PowerShell; ideally Git-supported way of working, CI/CD-related methods are an advantage)
• It is an advantage if you are familiar with Ansible and source code management with Git
• Structured, independent way of working, high service orientation, and good communication; user knowledge in the Atlassian Cloud Suite
• Very good German; French and/or Italian knowledge are an advantage
