We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant (m/w/d) Microbiological Quality Control – Microbiology Team (LSB) – Kaiseraugst ​ Background ----------- The Unit QC mEMT Basel within the QC Microbiology is responsible for microbiological environmental monitoring of GMP clean rooms as well as for the monitoring of GMP pure media in production buildings at the Basel site. The activities concern both Drug-Substance and IMP production areas. The tasks include sampling in defined clean room zones using surface imprinting as well as active and passive air germ sampling. Additionally, water and gas samples are taken from pure media. The samples obtained are filtered, incubated, evaluated or forwarded to other specialist departments as required. --- Your Profile You have completed training as a biology or chemistry laboratory assistant, chemical or pharmaceutical technologist or have a comparable qualification. Ideally, you have practical experience in microbiological laboratory work and in the field of microbiological environmental monitoring. Knowledge of GMP requirements and related documentation is an advantage. You communicate fluently in German and are characterized by a very careful, structured and practice-oriented approach to work. Teamwork, accuracy and openness to change round out your profile. --- Tasks and Responsibilities • Preparation and execution of microbiological sampling such as air germ sampling, surface imprinting and particle monitoring in clean rooms • Execution of microbiological and chemical-physical sampling of pure media such as WFI and gases • Filtration of different water qualities such as WFI and PW • Incubation, evaluation and documentation of results in LIMS • Organization and execution of sample logistics --- Must Haves • Completed training as a biology or chemistry laboratory assistant, chemical or pharmaceutical technologist or equivalent qualification • Experience in microbiological laboratory work, ideally in microbiological environmental monitoring • Knowledge of GMP systems and GMP documentation is an advantage • Fluent German language skills • Very careful, accurate and structured approach to work • Practical skills and pronounced quality orientation • High teamwork and willingness to actively support changes --- General Information • Start date: 01.02.2026 • Planned employment duration: 9 months (sick leave replacement) • Extension: rather unlikely • Workplace: Basel, B73 • Working hours: 100% • Home office: not possible • Team: 6 employees • Working hours: standard • GMP-relevant environment: yes • Criminal record required: yes ​ Unsatisfied, underchallenged or ready to discover something new? -------------------------------------------------------------------- What are you waiting for?
