Chief Resident in the Surgical Senology Unit - 100%

In your capacity as a chief resident with a specialist title in gynecology and obstetrics at the Surgical Senology Unit, you ensure, under the supervision of the medical hierarchy, the management of patients with breast pathologies, benign or malignant, requiring medico-surgical management. In this framework, you contribute to the supervision and training of resident doctors and interns. In your capacity as chief resident, you also participate in on-call shifts in the gynecology and obstetrics departments. Operating in a stimulating university environment, within a multidisciplinary team, you supervise and oversee resident doctors and interns, thus contributing to their training. You hold a federal medical diploma or a title deemed equivalent and recognized by MEBEKO. You hold a specialist title in gynecology and obstetrics or have a title deemed equivalent and recognized by MEBEKO. You possess the right of practice allowing you to practice in the canton of Geneva and you have a French level of C1. You have experience as a chief resident and have the necessary surgical and obstetrical skills and experience to ensure on-call shifts in this function in a university setting. Your knowledge and solid experience allow you to autonomously perform the following surgical interventions: operative hysteroscopies (polypectomy, myomectomy, treatment of synechia and uterine septum), diagnostic laparoscopies with chromoperturbation, simple cystectomies, salpingectomies, cesarean sections, and instrumental extractions. A theoretical training and professional experience in the field of reproductive medicine, gynecological endocrinology, and gynecological imaging are an asset for the position. You ensure day, night, and weekend shifts according to the needs of the department. The mission of the gynecology department is to ensure the follow-up of women throughout their reproductive lives and during menopause. It welcomes women and couples with maximum comfort and safety, respecting the privacy and values of each. The department consists of several specialized consultations. The medical oncogynaecology, surgical oncogynaecology, and surgical senology units thus ensure the joint management of gynecological cancers and breast cancers. The reproductive medicine and gynecological endocrinology unit organizes the management of issues related to reproduction, infertility, and menopause. The perineology unit's mission is the prevention and treatment of genital prolapse ("organ prolapse") and urinary incontinence. The Gynecological-Obstetrical Emergency Unit welcomes patients 24/7 and manages between 18,000 and 20,000 consultations per year for any gynecological and obstetrical problem. It has 8 consultation rooms: 3 gynecology rooms, 4 obstetrical rooms, and 1 room equipped with a colposcope and kits for the management of sexual assault findings. The gynecology department simultaneously ensures the teaching of specialist gynecologist-obstetricians, contributes to the training of medical students, and participates in the continuing medical education of practicing physicians.
