It works on the development of cutting-edge services and competence centers of specialties. The child and adolescent surgery service covers the surgical treatment of the growing organism. It concerns patients with congenital malformations, diseases, or accidents; it includes particularly preoperative investigations, surgical treatment, and peri- and postoperative follow-up, from birth to adulthood. It also includes the follow-up of potential surgical problems, but which do not require surgical intervention. The child and adolescent surgery service is a primary, secondary, and tertiary center: it treats children with simple and common conditions, as well as complex and highly specialized problems. Geneva is the reference center for Switzerland for liver diseases in children and pediatric hepatobiliary surgery. The unit of pediatric orthopedics and traumatology is one of the two units of the child and adolescent surgery service of the Department of Women, Children, and Adolescents of the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève. This unit ensures the care of hospitalized or outpatient patients on the diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical levels, congenital, acquired, and traumatic conditions of the motor apparatus and spine of children and adolescents, electively and in emergencies. Job Description ## As a deputy physician in the unit of pediatric orthopedics and traumatology, you contribute to the supervision of activity, the management of internal physicians and clinic heads. You collaborate with clinical activities with the heads of service and deputy physicians. You have solid experience in pediatric orthopedics and exercise mainly in this specialty for programmed activities. You ensure the coordination of practical activities, clinical, therapeutic, or surgical interventions of patients who are entrusted to you. You participate in the on-call system and duty roster. Demonstrating a confirmed interest in teaching, you participate in pre/post-graduate and continuing instruction in the unit. Being dynamic, flexible, and committed, you develop interdisciplinary clinical projects. You participate, deploy, and ensure research in the unit, particularly in the field of spinal pathologies in children and adolescents, and notably scoliosis. You are a person recognized for your leadership and take advantage of your excellent organizational, relational, and communication skills, in a multidisciplinary team and with the people in charge and their family. Qualifications ## You hold a federal diploma of physician, a specialist title in orthopedic surgery and traumatology of the locomotor system or have a training considered equivalent by the Commission of Medical Professions of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO). You also hold a doctoral thesis. You have experience in pediatric orthopedics and traumatology, with in-depth clinical expertise in the care of spinal pathologies in children and adolescents, and have already worked as a clinic head at a minimum, ideally as a hospital physician, within a university hospital, in this field. You are in possession of a practice permit for the canton or are able to obtain it before taking office. For non-French speakers, a French level C1 in spoken and written tests is required.
