Global Head of R&D – Center of Excellence Renewable Energy / MC4 Line

We are looking for an experienced executive in the field of R&D to lead our Center of Excellence Renewable Energy / MC4 Line. In this role, you will bear overall responsibility for the product portfolio assigned to you and lead product development, industrialization, lifecycle management, and continuous product improvement at the development sites in Europe, China, and the USA.

You will ensure that our products remain competitive, scalable, and compliant with regulations, as well as meeting market requirements, while leading a global organization of managers, engineers, and technical specialists.

Your tasks

• Strategic and operational management of the Center of Excellence as well as responsibility for achieving performance and growth targets
• End-to-end responsibility for the assigned products of the development sites in Europe, China, and USA throughout the entire product lifecycle
• Ensuring market and competitiveness through innovation, scaling, localization, and cost optimization
• Technological leadership and representation of the Center of Excellence towards internal and external stakeholders, customers, partners, and suppliers
• Promotion of technical and methodical excellence within the organization
• Development, introduction, and ensuring of uniform standards, processes, and best practices
• Derivation and implementation of measures from the corporate strategy and relevant business plans
• Management of the product and project portfolio taking into account market requirements, resources, and strategic priorities
• Monitoring of KPIs, budgets, resources, risks, and project progress
• Ensuring product quality, compliance, product safety, and adherence to internal and external audit and approval requirements
• Transparent communication of progress, risks, and opportunities to relevant stakeholders
• Completed university degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in the field of product development for mass-produced electromechanical components
• Experience in the development of connectors
• Knowledge of relevant industry-specific standards, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
• Proven experience in leading international R&D organizations and managing complex development programs at multiple locations, including the management of budgets, resources, risks, and schedules.
• Profound knowledge in the areas of product lifecycle management, portfolio management, product industrialization, and market-oriented product development.
• Experience in using PLM and ERP systems; knowledge of CAD and CAE applications such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks is an advantage.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills as well as good written and spoken German skills.
• Additional training in business administration or an Executive MBA is an advantage.
