Then a versatile task awaits you at the Generalstaatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Bern at the interface of law, administration, and coordination. The position is fixed-term until March 31, 2028.

Your tasks

• Independent processing of jurisdiction matters and drafting of orders, correspondence, and statements according to internal instructions
• Clarification of pending proceedings at other authorities and management of the reminder system
• Support in more legally complex jurisdiction proceedings through analysis of case-relevant factual and legal questions for the attention of the proceedings management
• Drafting of the corresponding documents with justification in German and French (from presentation and predominantly in German)
• Occasional support of the legal secretariat in the processing of citizen letters, international legal assistance dossiers, and administration of internal databases, etc.

Your profile

• Commercial training or comparable qualification
• Completion of a Höhere Fachschule or several years of experience in the judicial sector is an advantage
• Independent, reliable, precise, and expeditious way of working
• Quick comprehension and strong organizational talent
• First language German and good French skills (B1)

Who we are

The Staatsanwaltschaft is responsible for the enforcement of the state's criminal claim. It conducts the preliminary proceedings, prosecutes crimes within the framework of investigations, files charges if necessary, and represents these charges in court. In minor cases, it issues a penal order. Organizationally, the Staatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Bern consists of the Generalstaatsanwaltschaft, three Staatsanwaltschaften for the entire cantonal territory (one Staatsanwaltschaft for the prosecution of economic crimes, one for special tasks, and one for juvenile criminal cases), as well as four regional Staatsanwaltschaften (Berner Jura-Seeland, Emmental-Oberaargau, Bern-Mittelland, and Oberland).
