• Transmit specialist knowledge in the field of vehicle use, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of wheeled armoured vehicles and support the practical instruction of soldiers during exercises and deployments in the context of field service
• Plan, design and carry out modern specialist instruction, as well as develop teaching aids, e-learning content and practice-oriented training programs
• Elaborate concepts regarding maintenance, instruction, operation and safety as well as constantly further develop technical instruction
• Further develop technical maintenance documentation together with industrial partners, armasuisse and the Army Logistics Base as well as implement current standards in a practice-oriented manner
• Conduct, support and accompany troop artisans and non-commissioned officers in their professional development
• Evaluate the new generations among the officers, promote new talents and contribute to training the next generation of technical specialists of the Swiss Army

What distinguishes you

• Completed vocational training as an automotive mechatronician, construction machinery mechanic, agricultural machinery mechanic or in an equivalent technical profession, with several years of practical experience
• Further training as an HF technician or automotive diagnostician or equivalent qualification constitutes an advantage
• Precise, autonomous and solution-oriented way of working, as well as motivation to take on responsibility
• Ability to support young people from a professional and personal point of view and to accompany them with authentic conduct
• Military experience constitutes an advantage, but is not an indispensable requirement: the necessary specialist skills will be transmitted as part of an in-depth introduction
• Excellent knowledge of German and ideally at least one second official language as well as English

The Instruction Command (Cdo Istr) is responsible for instruction within the Swiss Army -- from recruitment to general basic instruction to officer training -- regarding the militia and professional soldiers. It includes Higher Officer Training, Army Personnel, five training formations, the Instruction Center and the specialized Service for Women in the army and diversity. A third of the approximately 2350 employees are active in civilian professions in scientific, technical, medical, psychological, administrative or sporting fields and contribute to success alongside professional soldiers.

The Swiss Army employs over 9000 employees within the framework of four military professions and approximately 200 civilian professions, in 110 locations throughout the national territory. Furthermore, it provides for new generations, training apprentices in over 30 professions.
