Outreach / Public Engagement Project Coordinator (50%) Mission As part of its Impact strategy, EPFL is strengthening its public engagement activities to foster dialogue between research and society. To support this ambition in Valais, we are looking for an Outreach / Public Engagement Project Coordinator (50%) responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing projects that make science accessible, encourage public participation, and create opportunities for exchange around major contemporary scientific and technological issues. Reporting to the Vice-Presidency for Innovation and Impact (VPI) and working in close collaboration with the management of EPFL Valais Wallis, the Service de promotion des sciences (SPS), the Communication Department, the EPFL Valais Wallis laboratories, and other relevant stakeholders, you will contribute to nurturing the science-society dialogue in Valais and fostering innovative formats for public engagement. Main tasks and responsibilities * Design, plan, and lead public engagement projects that promote dialogue between science and society, such as lecture series, art-science initiatives, or other large-scale public events. * Ensure operational follow-up of projects, including management of schedules, budgets, logistical aspects, speakers, and partners, as well as the organization and facilitation of project meetings. * Coordinate public engagement initiatives conducted in Valais to strengthen their coherence, visibility, and impact. * Support the EPFL Valais Wallis laboratories in the design and implementation of their public engagement activities, and support the Service de promotion des sciences in organizing the Valais edition of the Scientastic festival. * Contribute to the development and deployment of EPFL's public engagement strategy in Valais, in collaboration with the relevant internal stakeholders. * Identify, develop, and maintain collaborations with external actors in the Valais territory to foster synergies between science and society. * Ensure the monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of activities conducted to strengthen their quality, reach, and impact. Profile * Scientific or technical education, or professional experience demonstrating a good understanding of the academic and research world. Knowledge of the areas of excellence of EPFL Valais Wallis is an asset. * Experience and strong interest in interactions between science and society as well as in public engagement approaches. * Experience in project and event coordination involving a diversity of stakeholders, ideally in an academic, scientific, or similar environment. * Good knowledge of the Valais ecosystem and the ability to identify collaboration opportunities and develop local partnerships. * Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various interlocutors and to work autonomously in a decentralized environment. * Proactive and capable of developing and implementing new initiatives. * Very good knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written.
