The estimation commission for wildlife damage is responsible, as a court of first instance specialized administrative court, for the determination and estimation of damage caused by game animals to forests, agricultural crops, and livestock. It decides on the compensation obligation of hunting societies and the canton towards landowners or tenants affected by wildlife damage.

As a result of the resignation of a member, the following position is to be newly filled as of 1 January 2027 for the remainder of the 2025–2028 term of office:

What awaits you

• You will participate in the procedures of the estimation commission. This decides in a panel of three, unless the decision falls under the sole jurisdiction of the president.
• Usually, you will be in use for about ten (half-)days per year.

What you bring with you

• This part-time position requires an experienced specialist with an agricultural background and/or knowledge of agricultural crops. Knowledge of agricultural damage calculation and/or hunting-specific knowledge is an advantage.
• A completed vocational training EFZ or an equivalent education is expected.
• You are independent, flexible, and decisive.

We offer you

• A responsible and exciting part-time activity.
• The activity, which is limited to relatively few cases per year, is compensated based on effort.
• This function is incompatible with the office of Cantonal Councilor and with a position in the cantonal administration.
• The electing authority is the Obergericht.
