Solution Engineer Railway Communications

You will further develop central railway communications systems and design technical concepts, integrations, and commissioning in the railway environment.

Tasks

• Further development of central railway communications systems including integration, migration, and technical roadmaps
• Conception of operational use cases and interfaces with IMS, GSM-R, systems of other railways, and SIP solutions
• Creation of technical concepts, specifications, and solution proposals for new services and system connections
• Planning and support of laboratory tests, acceptance tests, and live commissioning of systems and terminals
• Support during tenders from requirements definition to bid evaluation
• Analysis of complex faults together with operations and partners
• Clarification of topics such as VPN, VLAN, and peripheral system connections with network specialists

Profile

• Degree FH/Uni/ETH or equivalent training or many years of experience in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or computer science
• Experience with technical concepts, specifications, tests, and commissioning of complex systems
• Experience in the telecommunications, mobile communications, voice, or system integration environment
• Know-how in IP-based communication, ideally with SIP and RTP
• Knowledge of IMS, GSM-R, FRMCS, DIAMETER, SCTP, WebRTC/WebSocket, or Sigtran/SS7 is an advantage
• Very good German and English skills, at least level C1
